What is Alma Mater Europaea?

Alma Mater Europaea is an international European university headquartered in Salzburg, Austria, with study centers in various European cities. It operates under the academic sponsorship of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, which has more than 2,000 members. All members are top scientists and artists, thirty-one of whom are Nobel Prize winners. The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Felix Unger, is the Honorary President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts; the Rector is the German political scientist Prof. Dr. Dr. Werner Weidenfeld, and the Vice-Rector is the Slovenian lawyer and diplomat, Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak.

How long does the Bachelor program last?

The program lasts 3 years.

When does the Bachelor program start?

All classes at Alma Mater begin in October, but exact dates vary by study program.

Is attendance at lectures mandatory?

Yes. Attendance at lectures is mandatory for Alma Mater students.

In what language are the courses conducted?

Does Dance Academy offer part-time or full-time study options?

The Bachelor's Degree of Dance Academy are full time on campus programs.

What is the curriculum of the Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Choreography program? What skills and knowledge will I gain during the program?

The study program of the Dance Academy covers the entire artistic and practical knowledge in the field of dance - from classical to modern disciplines.

It encourages the achievement of personal goals, development of character and recognition of artistic responsibility.

The modern nature of the program becomes pronounced in its practical orientation, which offers the artistic form of dance, through various social and educational experiences.

It develops communication skills and critical thinking, capacities for research and analysis, as well as the creative productivity in any field of dance.

What degree is awarded upon completion of the program?

The degree obtained upon completion of the program is a Graduated dancer / Choreographer.

Are there performance opportunities for students?

Every semester we organize performances where students can showcase their progress.

Does Dance Academy offer installment payment options for tuition fees?

Yes. The tuition fee can be paid in one, two, or five installments. In the case of installment payments, an administrative fee of €20 is added to each installment. No interests are applied.

Besides tuition fees, what other costs should I consider?

In addition to the tuition fee, students must pay an admission fee of €100 for each academic year and a one-time fee of €50 for the issuance of the Record Book of Knowledge and Competences.

The students need to attend the lessons in person in Ljubljana and the housing costs are not covered in the tuition fee.

What are the employment opportunities after graduating?

A professional dancer or choreographer is typically self-employed. The professional and practical knowledge acquired during the course of study, along with networking with dance and educational institutions, as well as individuals, can open opportunities both locally and abroad. What are the enrollment criteria?

Enrolment to the Dance Academy is available to all who have:

Obtained a matura, vocational matura, or an equivalent high school diploma.
Hold a medical certificate issued by an expert medical practitioner
Passed the dance audition in Contemporary dance, Jazz, Competitive Ballroom and Latin dance, Social dance and Urban / Hip Hop
English B2 proficiency
Attended a high school of ballet or another adequate ballet education (only for the ballet program)
